IRHA & Tribes We Serve

The IRHA provides services to 31 Tribes in Interior Alaska

Housing Funds & Services

By designating the IRHA as the TDHE via an annual resolution, the Tribes can utilize NAHASDA funding on housing activities for their communities. The Tribes have the option to select a housing activity each year, which is added to the annual Indian Housing Plan (IHP), designating how the HUD allocated funds will be expended. Once the information is collected on housing activities, the Tribes will approve the activities via a certification.

The IRHA can provide services through community planning, project site control, environmental reviews, project management, grant writing, construction, rehabilitation, model activities, financial audit reporting, and procurement compliance.

IRHA Indian Housing Plan (IHP)

Working together with Tribes, the IRHA offers a planning process that maximizes self-determination in prioritizing needs for their individual community to best address housing. These priorities are then written into a unified Indian Housing Plan (IHP) that is submitted to The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) each year to ensure financial compliance and housing needs are met by adhering to the HUD rules and regulations.
